BENJI is hanging up his paws!

10th December 2012, marked the official retirement date of our wonderboy BENJI. Benji celebrated his 10th Birthday on 27th November last month. Below is his great achievements and he now work as an assistant trainer in our Obedience & Agility Classes. BENJI ends the year with a well deserved winning of the SKC National Obedience Champion reserve for 2012. This is an equivalent OTch reserve title. (OTch is Obedience Trials Champion) Together with his dad OTch, OTch Utility Black Diamond Maximillion CDX, UDX, AD, JD , Max and his mum CH. Marsean Mikah OTch res, CDX, made their names into the Singapore Kennel Club's OBEDIENCE TRIALS CHAMPIONS Hall of Fame!!! That means, we have 3 Obedience Trials Champions from our PUPS DOG TRAINING and DIAMONDISLE KENNEL. Benji's Obedience & Agility Accolade ... He is a core member of our CrazyK9 Flyball Team! He did various flyball demonstrations with the ONLY CrazyK9 Flyball Team in Singapore. Our record is 24.78s. Benji also did well in Dog Frisbee and he did various Frisbee Demonstrations. Benji is great on SET too. He was featured at a XIN MSN TV Ad. BENJI has always been a GREAT AMBASSADOR of a Well Trained Dog. With his retirement, BENJI will now take life easy and we hope to give him a good and enjoyable Senior days. We believe he deserve a good senior life and we are always grateful to have such a great boy like him.

DIAMONDISLE GIRLS Game ON!

This coming USDAA Sanctioned Trials, you will see GUINNESS and SKY will be in action with Dexter & Charis. Wishing our DIAMONDISLE GIRLS Great Success! However the most important thing is to have fun with your dogs.

Good news, our DiamondIsle Angel Wing Begonia, Guinness , will have her debut in our coming 10th USDAA International Dog Agility Sanctioned Trials. Hope she can do well in the competition.

Happy belated Pawday to our DiamondIsle C-Litter! Wishing Bailey, Salvia, Passion, Jake, Guinness & Tinkle a HAPPY BIRTHDAY!!!

Hector, our last puppy left with his new owners, Mr. & Mrs Leong yesterday night. So sad yet so happy for Hector to have found a good home.

GrandMa Mikah seems to like to to join the chase game with the little Hector. But the poor old girl juz can't match up with her grand kid ..... so interesting to see them engage in the game of chase!

Great News! Captain Hector is going home this Friday with his new owners Mr. & Mrs Leong. Hope they have loads of fun with our handsome boy.

Tia Dalma went home with her new owner Jaemi Leong. This picture was taken during their vet visit this afternoon. Vet has given Tia a clean bill of health and she is now weighing whopping 6kg. Wishing the family load of fun with this beauty!

Good News! Tia will be going to her new home next week! We will get to see her grow up too as she will continue her training with us!

Great news to DiamondIsle Kennel, Millie, DiamondIsle Millenium was crowned NWD 2012, 60 Super-Weavers Champion! Great girl, since this was her first attempt on 60 weave poles.

Thanks to Hershey mama, we can leave the puppies outside in the yard while she guarded her charges, while we clean up their crate and their nursey. Hershey is a great mama :)-

All puppies have their 1st bath this afternoon. Not too please for Tia, but Hector & Kira seems happy to clean! Think this bunch love water, they enjoyed standing over a tub of water, while daddy Benji & Hershey mama stand guarding while I bath them :)

Kira & her littlemates...

Taking advantage of this morning good weather, I brought the bunch outdoor for the FIRST outdoor experience in my yard. Together with daddy Benji and Hershey mama, this outdoor experiences has been a positive one. For videos please refer to http://www.facebook.com/diamondislekennels.

Time passes so fast, today is their 6th week Birthday. Happy 6th week Birthday D-Litter! Very soon they will be ready to go home with their new owners .....

Today we brought puppies to the vet for their 1st vaccination. This brave and strong bunch didn't even whine a bit. VET are very happy with their health, size and feel.

Will Turner and Jack Sparrow are reserved, now only Tia Dalma and Captain Hector are available ....

this bunch love hugging & carrying, they just sit and wait to be carry whenever we approaches their nursery ... how can you not love them! I love them to bits ......

@4 week, they weight at a average of 1.7kg, all have grown and become too big for all of them to squeeze into hershey mama's tits when nursing....

Lord Culter's eyes are not blue, mean he is a true Red! Very good news, Benji & Hershey combination brings multiple shapes of colours!

Tia has just opened her eyes ....... can't see the color will check out tomorrow morning ..... she's a beauty ....

Brought Hershey mama for a short refreshing walk down our nice & quiet neighbourhood. Can see she enjoys her walks and occasionally barking at my neighbor's dogs lol

Both Cpt Hector & Anamarie has opened their eyes, left Will, Tia & Culter still to open their eyes..... getting very exciting

Cpt Jack Sparrow is the 2nd to open his eyes. This bunch is moving very fast now, some of them can literally stand up and walk lol

Good news, Elizabeth Swann is the first to open her eyes ...... cool hope the rest will follow suit by tomorrow .... will check on Elizabeth's eyes colour tomorrow, can't tell the colour under warm lighting bummer ....

Day 14 - still waiting for the opening of their eyes. Looks like all their eyes will be of many shape of colours hmmm exciting.....

Mama Hershey is such a great mother, we can leave her with her puppies throughout the night for her to take care of her charges:)

Just bought some stuff rats from IKEA to accompany our puppies. They are in Black, White & Grey. These rats will be the first thing our pups will witness, opening their eyes to welcome them into this beautiful world. Guess what, these rats are as big as the pups!

Day 12 - average weigh is 650g, average weigh gain per day is 40g. They are growing, now they have out growth their box nursery, I have to keep them in their whelping box instead.

Hershey mama was so hungry that she lead me into the kitchen to peel for her, her favourite boiled eggs ..... hmmm she really knows how to get me moving hahahah

Tomorrow morning I will try to get some good pictures of daddy Benji & Hershey mama.... First must pray for good weather ..... and will try to get some training under my belt.....

Day 10, average weigh is 580g and average increased per day is 40g. They are growing bigger, now they can even eliminate without their mama's help. What a wonder bunch?

Good news, both the Black & White and the Blue Merle Female Puppies are reserved.

There are 4 boys in this litter, a Red Merle, a lilac Merle and 2 Blue Merles with different shapes. Today is the 9-10th day, we will witness the opening of their eyes shortly.

This is No.5, a female Lilac Merle. Don't think there is a Lilac in Singapore. She is the smallest in the litter and with strong build up, she is keeping up well with her competitive litter mates. Check out her pic here.

We have 3 girls; a black/white, a lillic merle and a blue merle. Pictures will be available soon.

This is No.4, a female, a Black/White. Weigh 260g at birth. A beautifully marked puppy, check out her pic here.

This batch of puppies are all very strong willed, they never give up when they can't get their mum tits. Even the smallest, muscle out her bigger siblings to win her prized tits.

Puppies update ..... Day 5

Day 5 - Average weight of the litter was 320g on day 4 and 377g on day 5. Healthy weight increased on each pup and they are growing bigger by the day litterally ;)

This is No.2 in the litter, a Male Blue Merle. We describe him as broken merle since he is only one with bigger black patches over the merle. Check out his pic below.

What a bliss?

interesting insights....

Yesterday before heading out to class, while Dex was conducting his Private Agility Classes, Hershey was still feeding the bunch and I had to leave so I told Hershey if she could give me the puppies to return to the nursery box. Hershey placed her head down near the puppies as if she is hugging them at first and I spoke to her softly, "Hershey give" repeating a few times, finally she lift her head and turned to look at me. In front of her was the Black and White girl she licked cleaned her and nosed her out of the way as if to say "here take this one." I took the puppy and placed in the nursery returning to ask for the rest.Than she got up and left the whelping box as the puppies drop off her while still sucking for milk! Sometimes I think they understand. It's really amazing.

Updates on D Litter ....

Brought mama & her pups to the vet yesterday afternoon. Vet was very happy with the conditions of mama & her pups. He is also surprise that mama can deliver 7 pups successfully and without complication. All thanks to barf, we will definitely stick to barf!

D Litter update ...

Labour contraction started late on Friday morning about 3am. And after 12 hours of labour, hershey delivered her puppies from 3.20pm to 7pm, in total 4 Boys & 3 Girls. We have 5 Merles, 1 Red and 1 Black & white. Average litter weight at birth is 300g.

Trip is up for adoption!

TRIP, a 4 years old Border Collie is up for adoption. Trip is neutered, very sweet dog, only good with older kids, impatient with young kids, good with cats, loves loves loves playing ball. Garden trained. The current place he is staying is so huge he has the freedom to run in and out of the house and never leaves the compound. Owner wants him to find a good active home. His other companion a Schnauzer will be given to their neighbour.

Update on Hershey

After 7 days of absolute rest, Hershey seems to be putting pressure on the injured right back paw. Hopefully it mean, her injury is not that bad.

Guess what ?? After training my girls regularly, I can see my girls eagerness to start their training session with me.
